The JOY‘s little brother, this module is a two-dimensional voltage generator, controlled via a dual-axis joystick. Pressing the joystick generates a GATE signal.
The main advantage of this module is, of course, the ability to control six CV parameters of your modular system with one hand, or even a single finger. It’s compact (only 5 HP) and, in most cases, allows you to close a cover to protect your case, thanks to the joystick’s minimal protrusion (31 mm).
Explanation: The joystick generates a voltage between -5V and +5V on two axes simultaneously. A linear attenuator allows you to adjust the voltage output for each axis; each output has its own multiple.
By moving the joystick from left to right (X-axis), the voltage generated on the two dedicated outputs will range from -5V to +5V (when the attenuator is at 100%). Releasing the joystick returns it to its center position (0V).
Moving the joystick up and down (Y-axis) will increase the voltage on the two dedicated outputs from -5V to +5V (when the attenuator is at 100%). Releasing the joystick returns it to its center position (0V).
Pressing the joystick (“GATE”) increases the voltage on the two dedicated outputs to +5V. A green light ring indicates this action.
