The JOY module is a two-dimensional voltage generator, via a two-axis joystick, the joystick is a “latching” type model, when you release the axis, it remains in its position.The great advantage of this module is of course the possibility of acting with one hand on several CV parameters of your modular system.
Explanations:The action of the joystick generates a voltage between -5V and +5V, on two axes simultaneously. Each axis has four outputs, a first pair with a direct output and an output with an attenuator to control the emitted voltage. The second pair uses the same logic but with polarity inversion: +5V/-5V.
Thus, by manipulating the joystick from left to right (“X” axis), the voltage generated on the first column of dedicated outputs extends from -5V to +5V and at the same time, the voltage generated on the second column of dedicated outputs is extends from +5V to -5V.By releasing the joystick, it will retain its position.
By manipulating the joystick from back to front (“Y” axis), the voltage generated on the first column of dedicated outputs extends from -5V to +5V and at the same time, the voltage generated on the second column of outputs ranges from +5V to -5V.By releasing the joystick, it will retain its position.
